After the launch of the MY22 Kawasaki Ninja 650 in India. India Kawasaki Motors now announce the launch of the MY22 Z650. The new Kawasaki Z650 will be available in the “CANDY LIME GREEN TYPE 3” colour option. Kawasaki has announced that the new Z650 will come with a sticker price of INR 6.24 lakh ex-showroom. The Japanese brand has announced that the company will start deliveries on the Z650 from September 2021.
MY22 Kawasaki Z650 – Design Highlights
The MY22 Kawasaki Z650 features the high tail low nose design philosophy which gives the motorcycle a typical crouching stance. The Z650 comes with a sharp Z styling language that features low slung headlamps with body colour shrouds and a small flyscreen. The motorcycle also comes with a chiselled fuel tank and tank shrouds that extend to the radiator. The bike also comes with a sharp tail section and short overhangs. For the colour update, the MY2022 gets the front tank cover in green instead of black in the MY21 model. The motorcycle also gets slightly different graphics.
MY22 Kawasaki Z650 – Ergonomics
The Kawasaki Z650 comes with a sharp Z “sugomi” styling with a crouching stance. Even though the motorcycle features a high tail low nose design philosophy, it still offers great ergonomics. This allows the rider to blast around the city with ease. Kawasaki also boasts that the Z650 is the most well-balanced motorcycle in the brand’s line-up. This allows superior handling traits in city traffic and reduced rider’s fatigue. The Z650 also comes with a fairly upright handlebar and mildly rear-set footrests. The seats on the Z650 allow ample space for the rider to move around and adjust as well as a wide base for long-distance comfort.
MY22 Kawasaki Z650 – Technical Specifications
Powering the Kawasaki Z650 is a BS6 compliant 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. The 8-Valve DOHC engine produces 68 PS of power and 64 Nm of torque. The engine comes with electronic fuel injection with dual throttle valves and a semi-dry-sump with a forced lubrication system. The motor is paired to a 6-speed return type gearbox. The Kawasaki Z650 comes with a high-tensile steel trellis frame that rides on a 41 mm telescopic fork and a Horizontal Back-Link suspension on the rear. Stopping power comes from 300mm twin discs on the front and a 220mm disc on the rear.
