MY22 Ford Mustang Mach-E range updated

Ford has updated the prices of Mustang Mach E. And, we see that Ford has also updated the usable battery capacity, but interestingly the driving range remains the same. Ford’s website cites a higher EPA range for most of the 2022 Mach-E version. Just the GT version’s range sees no upgrade. And this makes us believe that maybe the GT version came with a higher capacity battery potential right from the start. Ford had launched the GT version after quite some time when compared to the other versions. The EV made the headlines in the news as the range was significantly higher than expected.

On average, the battery capacity has increased by 2 or 3 kWh, which is nearly 3 per cent. In order to achieve this increase, Ford might have worked to improve the overall efficiency of the EV. To get a more clear picture, we wait for the official figures from EPA. These recent developments do suggest that Ford is working hard to improve its Mach-E lineup. Recently, Ford also revealed its improved fast charging curve. Given the demand for EVs across the country, Ford aims to increase the production of the Mach-E to 2,00,000 per annum.

Ford’s Recent Update Improves Charging In Mach-E

Last month’s update for Mach-E customers fixed the major problem in the charging of the EV. Previously, customers reported that the charging time post SOC 80 per cent was very low. The reason was that the charging power was reduced to a mere 11-12 kW after the 80 per cent mark. But with the recent update, customers are reporting an improved charging time. Now, from SOC 80 per cent to 90 per cent, the charging power stays at a healthy 40 to 50 kWh.

Will Ford Bring The Mach-E To India?

We are aware that Ford has stopped all its operations in the country. But, the company mentioned that it would continue to bring in products via the CBU route. And thus, we can expect that Ford might plan to launch the Mach-E sometime in 2023 in India.
