MY 2021 Range Rover & Range Rover Sport revealed with new ‘Ingenium’ engine

2020 is the year when Land Rover celebrates its Fifty Year of Range Rover and now the Tata-owned British heritage marquee has unveiled the Model Year 2021 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport facelift. The My 2021 Range Rover will be available in India in both Short Wheelbase (SWB), Long Wheelbase (LWB) versions and special editions with a choice of Mild-Hybrid Electric Petrol and Diesel powertrains. The MY 2021 Range Rover Sport comes in six variant trims offered in petrol, diesel and supercharged petrol powertrain options. 

The MY 2021 Range Rover is offered in the Vogue, Vogue SE and Autobiography in the SWB version and Vogue, Vogue SE, Autobiography and SV Autobiography available in the LWB version along with special edition – Westminster Edition, Westminster Black Edition and Range Rover Fifty available only in the LWB version of which the Range Rover Fifty is available in a limited-production run of just 1970 units, globally to commemorate the original Range Rover’s launch which was on 17 June 1970. 

The MY 2021 Range Rover is powered by an option of 3.0-litre MHEV Petrol (P400), 3.0-litre MHEV Diesel (D300) powertrains incorporating 48V Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle technology (MHEV) for reduced fuel consumption and enhanced refinement. The Range Rover P400 comes with 3.0-litre six-cylinder MHEV petrol engine that makes 400 PS of power and 550 Nm of torque, and the Range Rover D300 features a 3.0-litre six-cylinder MHEV diesel engine that makes 300 PS of power and 650 Nm of torque. 

The Range Rover Sport features new exterior colour options and interior choices along with the latest generation of Land Rover’s new six-cylinder Ingenium diesel engines equipped with 48V Mild-Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) diesel technology to the Range Rover Sport for the first time.

The new engine line-up is developed in house and replace the V6 & V8 diesel motors with engines ranging from 249 PS to 350 PS of power output available on the D250, D300 and D350 variants. The petrol models are available in the P300 – 2.0-litre four-cylinder 300 PS/400Nm, P360 3.0-litre six-cylinder 360 PS/495 Nm, P400 – 3.0-litre six-cylinder 400 PS/550 Nm, P400e – 2.0-litre four-cylinder PHEV 404 PS/640 Nm, P525 – 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged 525 PS/625 Nm and the 5.0-litre 575 PS supercharged petrol engine available on the SVR.
