MV Agusta is working on a new larger capacity adventure motorcycle based on a triple engine. The Varese-based company plans to introduce the new motorcycle by 2023 in the international market. Sources report that the motorcycle will be 950cc in displacement and come with a brand new engine and platform. Furthermore, reports suggest that the brand is already testing the motorcycle and break cover by the end of 2022.
The new engine and platform will be equipped with advanced features, the ‘pinnacle of MV Agusta’s engineering’. The brand reveals that the motorcycle will have smart features in terms of engine performance, power and torque delivery among others. The motorcycle will come in two variants, one that offers high power low torque and another that offers low power high torque.
The new platform will sit between the current 800cc triple and 1000cc four-cylinder engines. MV Agusta will not just develop a single model based on the new 950 Triple, but several models appear to be in the pipeline. But sources suggest that the first model will be in the adventure segment. Other genres include naked roadsters as well as Supersports.
While specific details of the adventure class motorcycle are scarce, we speculate the ADV to be on the lines of the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce, in terms of design. MV Agusta will retain its classic design language and modern features such as LED DRLs, LED headlamps and taillamps. The new motorcycle is also likely to come with a fully digital colour display and IMU-based electronics such as cornering ABS, lean-angle sensitive traction control, etc. MV might even add a radar-based adaptive cruise control system as well as a forward collision alert and mitigation.
The brand also reveals that the MV Agusta Brutale family will also come with a new addition. This new expansion of the Brutale line-up is scheduled for May 2021.
