Mv Agusta F3 800 RC launched in India at INR 21.99 lakh

Mv Agusta has announced the launch of the F3 800 RC which is priced at INR 21.99 lakh ex-showroom. The motorcycle is around INR 4 lakh more expensive than the standard model. The RC will be limited to only 6 units in India and will come in a unique paint livery and with a ‘Race Kit’. The ‘RC’ in the Mv Agusta F3 800 RC stands for Reparto Corse, which is the racing division of the Italian manufacturer and the premium price is for the performance enhancements and the limited availability which will make the F3 800 RC exclusive.

The ‘Race Kit’ that comes with the motorcycle, is actually a wooden box which has an SC-Project exhaust in titanium and carbon, power unit for SC exhaust with special mapping and traction control for race mode, anodized aluminium mirror caps kit, billet aluminium Brake/Clutch levers, billet aluminium footpeg kit, fiberglass pillion seat cowl, “Sport”License Plate holder, dedicated bike cover, rear paddock stand and Certificate of origin – Limited Edition.

The F3 800 RC comes with a WSBK inspired racing livery in Red-White-Green, with the number 37 on the front and belly pan. The F3 800 RC also gets Alcantara leather seats.

The engine on the Mv Agusta F3 800 RC is a 798cc three-cylinder, 4-stroke, 12-valve DOHC liquid cooled motor which develops 153 HP of power and 88 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed transmission. The standard model produces 148 HP of power.

The electronics package includes an MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) with six injectors an Engine control unit, Mikuni throttle body with full ride by wire system, four maps, traction control with eight levels of intervention, an Electronically Assisted Shift up & down, etc.

The front suspension is a 43mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic hydraulic fork with rebound-compression damping and spring preload adjustment. The rear suspension comes with a progressive Sachs unit, single shock absorber with rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustment.

The Brakes are a 320mm with radially mounted Brembo calipers on the front and 220mm disc on the rear and comes equipped with a Bosch 9 Plus ABS unit that comes with a Race Mode and rear wheel lift-up mitigation.

The Mv Agusta F3 800 RC is more powerful and lighter than the standard model and does not have a direct competitor in the Indian market, but with the price point, it may rival the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R1000, Yamaha YZF-R1 and BMW S1000RR.
