At the recently held Moto Guzzi World Days event, the brand unveiled the V7 Stone Special Edition. In 2021, Moto Guzzi gave the V7 Special and V7 Stone models a new engine derived from the V85 TT. The V7 Stone came with satin paint schemes, while the V7 Special got a Blue Formale/Grey Casuale colour option. Now, with the new V7 Stone Special Edition, it looks like Moto Guzzi wants its customers to have the best of both worlds.
Moto Guzzi V7 Stone Special Edition – Highlights
Unlike the matte finish that comes with the V7 Stone, the V7 Stone Special Edition gets a glossy Shining Black colour option with a host of red accents. These red accents feature on the fuel tank, side panel and the rear suspension springs. However, unlike the V7 Special, the V7 Special Edition gets cast wheels and black-finished components like the V7 Stone.
The V7 Stone Special Edition also gets new graphite-painted head covers and black anodized aluminium throttle body guards. Furthermore, it gets a commemorative top clamp badge and black-anodized billet aluminium fuel cap to distinguish the special edition from the standard one. Unlike the standard V7 trims, the Stone Special Edition also gets new bar-end mirrors. Moto Guzzi also jointly developed an Arrow exhaust for the V7 Stone Special Edition.
Moto Guzzi V7 Stone Special Edition – Technical Specifications
Powering the V7 Stone Special Edition is the same 850cc 90-degree transverse V-twin engine as the standard model. The standard models put out 65 PS of power at 6,800 rpm and 73 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. However, thanks to the Arrow end can, the V7 Stone Special Edition makes 1 PS and 1.3 Nm of additional power and torque.
Apart from these changes, the V7 Stone Special Edition is identical to the other trims. Thus, it uses a tubular steel frame with 41mm telescopic forks at the front and dual rear shock absorbers. Meanwhile, the braking setup includes a 320mm disc at the front with a Brembo 4-piston calliper. At the rear, it uses a 260mm disc with a 2-piston calliper.
As for the wheels, it uses an 18-inch front and 17-inch rear setup. The front uses a 100/90-section tyre, while the rear uses a 150/70-section one. It uses Dunlop’s AeroMax StreetSmart tyres which offer modern-day performance and old-school looks.
