Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber now comes in a special edition. The V9 Bobber has single-handedly popularised the mid-displacement bobbers amongst Italian manufacturers. The bike gets a simple design along with a smooth, blacked-out appearance. The V9 Bobber rides on fat tyres that were inspired by post-World War II era American motorcycles. These bikes competed on dirt tracks, which gave the V9 Bobber a custom appearance.
Unveiled at the 2022 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy, the bike now gets a genuine sporting history. The bike stands out from the rest due to the unique equipment, along with design changes compared to the regular version. The special edition gets a dual-tone black and grey colour scheme. It also receives a billet aluminium fuel cap on the tank. The bike also gets fork gaiters, shortened front mudguard and bar end mirrors, giving it a classic appeal.
The V-twin engine has a matte black finish and machined aluminium cylinder head covers. The quality of workmanship is top-class, which can be seen in the frame welds and the painting quality. The exhaust is also blacked-out, consisting of an aluminium muffler and generates the unmistakable sound of the Moto Guzzi 850 twin-cylinder engine.
The bike measures 2,185 mm long, 840 mm wide and 1,120 mm tall. It gets a seat height of 785 mm, and the kerb weight (minus the fuel) is 210 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 15 litres.
The 853cc 90-degree V-twin engine gets both oil and air cooling. It has two valves per cylinder and generates a maximum power of 65 HP @ 6,800 rpm and 73 Nm of peak torque @ 5,000 rpm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox.
Moto Guzzi also offers the V9 Bobber in two other variants – the standard and the roamer. The company would likely bring the bike to Indian shores after some time.
