MG Motor India has come up with Agra’s first 60kW Superfast charging station as a part of ‘#NHforEV2020’ tech trial run flagged off in Delhi. It was inaugurated in the MG showroom in Agra. This charging station will be open for 24 hours throughout the week for the public to use. The Tech Trial run #NHforEV2020 was launched by the officials of Government of India on 25th November 2020 from India Gate.
The trial run will understand the feasibility of the Yamuna Expressway from Delhi to Agra as an e-corridor for public EV transit. The main focus is on improving the infrastructure and the roadside assistance services. The launch of the Superfast charging station amplifies the strong step towards the adoption of EVs in India. The convoy of MG ZS EVs as a part of the trial run started their journey from Agra and reached Delhi in under one single charge.
Proper charging infrastructure and services will attract more customers towards EVs and help spread awareness about the benefits of EV for sustainable development. MG is looking to provide the best in class services in the EV segment with the help of a robust 5-way charging network. Key collaboration with the energy segment leaders like Tata Power and Exicom will help deliver the results in a faster and more efficient way.
MG ZS which was launched in India in 2020 has sold over 1000 units. ZS is now offered with two variants namely, Excite and Exclusive. The overall design of the car is quite overwhelming especially in the Copenhagen Blue shade. MG has equipped it with a 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery powered electric motor which can do a 0-100 in about 8.5 seconds making it a really fast car. MG ZS is priced at INR 20.88 (ex-showroom Agra) and comes with three colour options, White, Red, and Copenhagen Blue.
With the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the first world countries, India will soon follow the same in the coming years and all the major car manufacturers will soon start launching their electric cars.
