Mini John Cooper Works hatch launched in India for INR 43.50 lakh

The iconic MINI John Cooper Works has been launched in India today. The hot hatchback will be brought to India via the CBU route (Completely Built-Up Unit) and is based on the Mini 3-door Hatch. The car will be available at all Mini dealerships from June 2019 onwards. The Mini John Cooper Works is the more powerful version of the Mini Cooper S and carries forward the legacy of the performance. The Mini John Cooper Works is the latest addition to the MINI model portfolio here in India.

The exteriors of the Mini John Cooper Works features a distinctive hexagonal grille with honeycomb pattern at the centre with a horizontal slat finished in red. The headlamps are all LED and are surrounded by LED daytime running lights with integrated turn signal lamps. The bonnet features race-inspired stripes and a sleek air intake scoop. The front apron is aerodynamic and integrates large directional air-intakes to keep thing cool under the bonnet. Coming to the profile the hatchback, it gets 17-inch JCW Track Spoke Light Alloy Wheels in black as part of the pack. The rear has chrome plated double exhaust pipes and a red coloured spoiler to provide aerodynamic stability.

On the interior, the Mini JCW features John Cooper Works sport seats with integrated headrests in Carbon Black Dinamica leather as standard and it also comes with a sporty leather steering wheel which can automatically adjust the steering sensitivity along with paddle shifters. The door sills and pedal caps are detailed with John Cooper Works badging. Other features on the interior include a Harman Kardon Hi-Fi Audio system with 12 speakers, a central 6.5-inch infotainment panel is surrounded by an LED ring and has Bluetooth connectivity as standard and a high contrast Heads Up Display.

The Mini JCW is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Twin-Turbo engine that produces 231 HP of power and a maximum torque of 320 Nm and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The stopping power comes from 4-piston, fixed caliper brakes which come in red with a John Cooper Works badge.

In terms of safety, the Mini John Cooper Works comes with front and passenger airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, ABS, Cornering Brake Control and Run-Flat tyre as part of the pack.
