JSW MG Motor India has officially announced the prices of the MG Windsor EV. The MG Windsor EV, touted as India’s first intelligent crossover utility vehicle (CUV), is set change the way electric vehicles (EVs) are priced. The starting price for this vehicle is INR 13,49,800 (ex-showroom) which includes the cost of the battery as well.
The MG Windsor EV is designed to offer a luxurious driving experience, combining the comfort of a sedan with the versatility of an SUV. This CUV is equipped with a host of industry-first features:
The MG Windsor EV is available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence, priced at INR 13,49,800, INR 14,49,800, and INR 15,49,800 respectively (ex-showroom). The vehicle will be available in four color options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green. Bookings for the Windsor EV will commence from October 3, 2024.
One of the standout features of the MG Windsor EV is its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program. This model allows customers to rent the battery at a cost of INR 3.5 per kilometer, significantly reducing the initial purchase price of the vehicle. This approach not only makes the Windsor EV more affordable but also addresses concerns about battery longevity and replacement costs. Currently, we know that the Excite variant is available at INR 9,99,000 with a BaaS plan of INR 3.5 per kilometer. The BaaS packages and prices for the other variants will be announced later.
Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India, expressed confidence in the Windsor EV’s potential to drive the adoption of electric vehicles in India. “The MG Windsor will enable customers to upgrade to an EV lifestyle through its attractive packaging and p ricing. We are confident that this will incentivize more potential customers to adopt electric vehicles, powering the transition to a greener future,” he said.
