MG reveals Marvel R electric SUV with 288 HP & 665 Nm

The MG Marvel R electric SUV has made its debut in the European market. The MG Marvel R expands the brand’s 100% Electric SUV portfolio and the Marvel R is the successor to the MG Marvel X that appeared at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi. But as of now, MG does not have any plans to introduce the Marvel R or the Marvel X in the Indian market.

MG Marvel R Engine Specifications

The MG Marvel R features an all-electric power unit with a Tri-Motor – All-wheel drivetrain with a peak performance of 212 kW / 665 Nm. The electric motor is capable of propelling the MG Marvel R from 0-50 kmph in just 1.8 seconds and 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds. The Marvel R can reach a top speed of 200 kmph and the battery pack is capable of delivering a range of 400 km on the WLTP cycle. Customers can recharge the battery using a 3-Phase 11kW AC charging system or DC fast charging which takes just 30 min to reach 80% state of charge. The MG Marvel R is also capable of V2L (Vehicle to Load) and can be used similar to a power bank.

Design & Styling

The MG Marvel R electric SUV features an X-shaped front fascia with bumper-mounted headlamps, a wraparound daytime running light, slim air dam and lower air intakes, raised ridges on the bonnet, rounded wheel arches, a wide shoulder stance, black-out ORVM housing, flush-mounted door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels with aero optimisation, black-out pillars, roof rails, wraparound LED taillamps, shark fin antenna, tailgate-mounted spoiler etc.

Interior Features

On the inside, the MG Marvel R features a vertically oriented 19.4-inch interactive touchscreen display with a central control system, multilayered dashboard with air-conditioning vents across the fascia, chrome trim on the dashboard, contoured seats, flat-bottomed steering with control, fully-digital colour instruments panel and a plethora of active and passive safety systems.
