MG partners with Delta Electronics for EV Charging of upcoming eZS SUV

MG Motor India is gearing up to launch their first electric product for India, the eZS or ZS EV as it is known in markets abroad. The MG eZS will be launched in India by early 2020, and the brand has now tired up with delta Electronics India to set up AC charging stations for the upcoming EVs in our country.

Delta will work on setting up AC charging stations in private car parkings for EV owners, at their home or in office. This would allow for convenient electric car charging solutions. With this initiative, the brand is gearing up for their 2nd product launch for India. The eZS electric SUV would be a rival to the Hyundai Kona here in India, but is expected to be priced very competitively. The eZS / ZS EV has already gone on sale in UK, Thailand and Chine with an Indian debut possible at the 2020 Auto expo.

In UK, Morris Garages has clocked over 1,000 bookings in the first two weeks of launch for the ZS EV.

Take a look at the infographic below to understand EV charging technology.

Morris Garages in the UK claim that the eZS has a combined driving range of 263 km, city driving range of 372 km. With a top speed of 87 mph, the eZS / ZS EV has a 44.5 kWh battery producing 143 PS of power and 353 Nm of torque matched to a 1-speed automatic gearbox. This electric SUV will have a charging from from 0-100% in 6.5 hours using a 7 kW charger and 40 minutes for getting 80% charge using a 50 kW charger.

Meanwhile, the MG Hector is off to a good start in the Indian market. It is already sold out for 2019, and the SUV is sold in a petrol, petrol+hybrid and diesel engine options in our market. MG Hector is a 5-seater SUV and rivals the likes of Kia Seltos.
