MG has unveiled the new MG One premium SUV in pictures ahead of its debut on 30th July 2021. The brand has revealed the SUV’s exterior design and revealed two colours that will be available on the production model. The brand also revealed that the MG One SUV would be available in two avatars – Fashionable and Sporty.
The MG One premium SUV adopts the sporty European design language. The car features a sharp and sleek front end with a bespoke grille design and a wide low squatting stance. The MG One also gets a progressive roofline with black colour and blackout pillars giving it a floating effect. The car gets sleek headlights in LED and wraparound LED taillamps. The One also features prominent character lines on the bonnet and the sides. The SUV comes with two appearances – Fashionable and Sporty.
In the Fashionable appearance, the MG One features lightning parameterised design grille. The radiator grille features a radial pattern concentrating towards the visual centre, which features a chunky MG badge. The unique grille design comes with a tungsten steel electroplated material that forms a distinct presence in the sun. Each cell flashes with a three0dimensional effect in contrast with dark and light highlights.
The Sporty edition comes with a shark-hunting front face and aggressive styling. The brand also employs the parameterised gradient elements with a three-dimensional pattern. Each section of the grille is independently designed, and the possibility of further customisation according to the customer’s needs and demands.
The brand will be offering two exterior colour options – Bubble Orange and Wilderness Green. The brand offers the Bubble Orange colour on the Fashionable avatar and the matte Wilderness Green on the MG One Sporty trim. The green shade comes with a gunmetal grey family-style MG grille and a tactile sensation. According to MG, the Wilderness Green colour “looks like a hunter ready to go in the jungle”.
The brand has not yet revealed the engine specifications of the MG One. But speculation is that the SUV will come with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor that does duty on the Hector SUV. The brand could also offer a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine on the MG One for diesel aficionados.
