MG Motor India has released a teaser image showcasing its upcoming Hector SUV. The brand also revealed the dates of the launch which is 10th of April 2024. In addition to this, MG Motor India has also revealed that the new Hector trim will be christened ‘Blackstorm’. The new MG Hector Blackstorm will come with a new Black exterior paint theme and we expect its interiors to also be colour matched. However, the MG Hector Blackstorm is likely to remain mechanically unchanged.
The MG Hector Blackstorm comes with a new shade of black with red accents. The SUV gets a black on black theme with black body colour and black grille. In addition to this, the Hector Blackstorm also gets gloss black accents around its grille and headlight. The studs on the radiator grille are also finished in a jet black shade. The brand is also offering a badge on the front quarter panel showcasing its exclusivity.
The headlight brow also gets a red accent and the red treatment continues on the wing mirrors as well as the front brake callipers. Currently, only the front part of the SUV is visible in the teaser image and soon the brand will fully reveal the car. But expect, a similar black and red treatment to its rear as well as its interiors.
Powering the MG Hector is a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The diesel-powered MG Hector comes only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Hector is also available with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol motor is available with a 6-speed manual as well as a CVT automatic transmission.
The MG Hector Blackstorm is likely to demand a slight premium over the standard models to justify its colour exclusivity.
