MG Motor India sold 4,315 cars in August ’21

MG Motors announces its sales report for August 2021. The carmaker registered a total sales of 4,315 units for the given period. This results in a growth of 51 per cent when compared to the same period last year. MG also confirmed that its electric vehicle offering, ZS EV, clocked its highest-ever bookings. The car received bookings of more than 700 units in August 2021. The growth and sales figure pretty much indicate the normalcy in customer buying behaviour. With the current situation and the upcoming festive season, it looks certain that the demand will only increase from here.

Shortage Of Semiconductor A Major Deterrent In New Car Production

MG Motor mentioned that all its products, Hector, Gloster and ZS EV, had significant sales figures last month. But, one of the important concerns for MG and the entire Indian automotive industry is the shortage in supply of semiconductor chips. The carmaker mentioned that due to this, the production would be majorly hit for September 2021. The impact is so strong that MG has already declared that the total manufacturing volume will be lower than that of August. But, MG has ensured its customers that they will try to channelise their priorities to meet the customer demands.

MG Astor Launch Soon

MG India is gearing up for the launch of its new SUV, Astor. This is the petrol version of the ZS EV that is currently on sale in India. However, Astor is more largely based on the facelifted ZS petrol that is currently on sale in the international market. The car has been spied on multiple occasions, and we know quite a few details of the vehicle.

MG is aggressively advertising the tagline ‘India’s First Car With Ai Inside’. And hence the car will get integrated Artificial Intelligence tech that will enable a lot of new features. Along with this, another critical differential this SUV will provide is its Level-2 Autonomous Tech. MG Astor will get driving assistance kits like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist and more.
