MG Motor India has posted its sales report for May 2022. The carmaker posted a total sales of 4,008 units for the given period. This figure translates to a growth of 99.6 per cent over April 2022. This growth represents the improved availability of chip availability, and MG expects the situation to improve even further in the coming months.
The demand is on the rise, as evident from the booking volume, but the production is still not at its total capacity due to the disruption caused by Covid-19. MG has reinsured that the company closely monitors the situation and aligns its efforts. The Trademark marketing strategy of ‘Internet Inside’ for the Hector and ‘AI Inside’ for the Astor has resonated well with the market.
Recently, MG Motor India mentioned that the company has 1,00,000 cars in the country. MG Motor India only has SUV options in its portfolio, namely Hector, Hector Plus, Astor, ZS EV and Gloster. All the titles are selling in good numbers. MG Astor has received quite an overwhelming response from the customers. The mid-size SUV segment is heating up with a wide range of choices for the customers. The addition of Astor in the segment has spiced up the segment even further.
In the EV segment as well, MG is doing pretty well. The updated ZS EV now gets a refreshed look and also a bigger battery pack. As per ARAI, the driving range per single charge of ZS EV is 461 km. On the side as well, there are subtle updates that make the ZS EV even more appealing to the customers. Furthermore, to enhance the charging infrastructure, MG Motor India has tied up with Bharat Petroleum. This partnership is a great move to widen the EV mobility infrastructure in India, which is still at a nascent stage.
