MG Motor India today recently announced its retail sales figure for August 2022. For the given period, the carmaker posted a total sales of 3,823 units. Morris Garages mentioned that the volatility in supply chains continues. Hence they still cause many production challenges. But, MG is hopeful that this will improve from next month onwards.
In order to meet growing customer demand, MG has taken some proactive steps. This includes multiple initiatives, including localisation and the introduction of special executive vehicle variants in its product lineup.
New Launches To Further Propel Sales
MG continues to have a long and happening order book with a positive outlook for the upcoming launches. The brand recently launched the Advanced Gloster, with added safety, style, and technology enhancements that will further add to MG’s sales. The company has mentioned the starting price as INR 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
2022 MG Gloster SUV gets some minor design updates. The list of these changes in the updated model includes a set of new 19-inch alloy wheels, updated LED tail lights, updated LED headlights, a slightly modified radiator grille, and a front bumper. In terms of interior updates, the “i-Smart 2.0” will add the updated Gloster with 75 connected car features. However, we do not see any mechanical changes as a part of this upgrade. Although, the Gloster is now available in two-wheel-drive in the top-end trim.
The ZS EV, which has been quite successful in the EV space, also continues its promising run. The sales talk about MG’s commitment to strengthening the EV ecosystem in India. On the other hand, MG will also bring in the next-gen Hector to the market soon.
MG India’s Manufacturing Facility
MG Motor India’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, currently has an annual production capacity of 1,25,000 vehicles. This facility employs close to 2,500 workers. Based on the vision of CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) mobility, the cutting-edge MG has augmented across-the-board ‘experiences’ within the automobile segment today.
