Morris Garages is expanding its business in India at a steady pace. The carmaker has registered a growth of over 43 per cent in 2021 when compared to last year. For the given year, MG has sold 40,273 units, with Astor being the model in much demand. With the challenges faced in 2021, starting with the Covid situation and then the shortage in supply of semiconductor chips, Morris Garages has done a pretty great job. There’s also the risk of inflation due to an increase in material cost. Furthermore, these factors are expected to prevail till the first 6 months of 2022. But the company has given assurance that they are closely monitoring the situation to meet the expectations of the demand.

Model-Wise Sales Growth

Hector is the bread and butter of the company and exhibited a growth of 21.5 per cent. Given the rising demand for EVs in the market, MG’s ZS EV registered a growth of 145 per cent. MG’s flagship offering, Gloster, registered a total growth of 252 per cent. To meet the rising demand, MG has set up its manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat. This manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity of 80,000 units with a workforce of 2,500 personnel.

The newly launched MG Astor has received an overwhelming response from the Indian market. The SUV gets all that makes it for a successful car as per today’s time. With Astor, MG is all set to take the Indian market very seriously and come with more innovative products.

MG’s Future Aspirations
