MG Motor India partners with TES-AMM for safe, responsible recycling of EV batteries

MG Motors has announced that the brand has joined hands with global e-waste recycling and end-to-end service provider, TES-AMM strengthening the brand’s commitment towards sustainable electric mobility solutions and to build a robust EV infrastructure in the Indian market to help transition the country into green mobility. The partnership will ensure secure recycling of MG ZS EV batteries, securing an ecological footprint for MG ZS EV customers. 

TES-AMM boasts to have Asia’s only lithium-ion battery recycling facility and is among the few companies that are certified in multiple management systems and hold the 18001:2007/R2 (Responsible Recycling) certification among others. The brand uses a one-of-a-kind mechanical-hydrometallurgical process that allows improved asset recovery in an environmentally safer and superior method.  

MG Motor has partnered with the TES-AMM brand to develop a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem with a focus on critical areas such as battery management which not only ensures that re-enter the value chain but are also recycled in the most environmentally way. The TES-AMM brand has also been a trusted leader in the e-waste recycling field, established in 2006. The brand has set up state-of-the-art facilities that are not only ultramodern and cost-effective but also safe and secure. 

In the Indian market, MG launched the MG ZS EV, a 100% fully-electric SUV that is powered by a 44.5kWh Ultra High-Density Lithium-Ion IP-67 rated battery pack. The MG ZS EV uses a 142.7 PS / 353 Nm electric motor for propulsion and claims to deliver a range of 340 km on a single charge. The MG ZS EV comes with an on-board charging cable which can be used for charging at a wall box charger installed at their homes/offices, through MG’s association with eChargeBays, free of cost. The ZS EV is also capable of charging at a 10 DC 50 kW super-fast charging station.
