MG Motor India is increasingly expanding its dealership network in the country. The carmaker recently added a new service facility in Mahadevpura, Bangalore. Currently, the service touchpoints count stands at 21 in Karnataka. And as per plans, the company aims to have a total of 25 touchpoints in the state by the end of 2021. MG has over 292 touchpoints at the national level and aims to reach the 300 mark by the end of 2021. This new service facility will deliver all requirements, including sales, service, spare parts and accessories. MG Motor is becoming one of the popular choices of the customers, especially in the SUV segment.
Currently, the British carmaker offers 4 products for the Indian market. This includes the recently launched Astor, Hector, ZS EV and Gloster. Each one of the vehicles is quite popular in its respective segment. The recently launched Astor has received quite an overwhelming customer response.
In fact, MG has already declared that the Astor is sold-out for 2021. The bookings for the SUV opened on 1st November, and reportedly the lot for 2021 got sold within minutes of the commencement of the booking. This is indeed a testimony of the demand for the SUVs in the market. MG has put on a very competitive price tag for Astor. And with the features on offer, the SUV will surely eat into the sales share of some of its rivals.
MG recently hiked the price of the Hector by up to INR 50,000. The company mentioned that the increasing cost of the freight led them to take this decision. ZS EV, the EV offering of the brand, will soon arrive in India in its updated avatar. In the international market, the updated trim has already made its mark. And we expect MG to introduce the updated model sometime next year. But, there’s no official statement to support the same. And also, there are chances that we see MG using a larger battery pack that will help in increasing the driving range.
