MG introduces Car as a Platform (CAAP) for upcoming mid-size SUV

MG Motor India has announced that the brand is working on a new concept of Car as a Platform (CAAP). The CAAP will lay down the foundation for MG future on mobility solutions in the Indian automotive industry. The brand also revealed that the Car as a Platform concept will make its debut on the soon to be launched mid-size SUV in India.

Car as a Platform Concept

The CAAP will have software at the heart of the system and come with an ecosystem of various in-car services. CAAP will feature subscriptions in the areas of utility, entertainment, security, consumer payment etc. The system will also have the capability to evolve over time not just creating smarter but also safer driving systems.

For this, MG is working with various global ecosystem partners in the field of Blockchain, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technologies. The emerging technology partners will actively work with MG to form the support system for Car as a Platform. The global ecosystem of partners will also help the development of the application of services and subscriptions. This will help support the increasing trend of on-demand in-car needs

CAAP will also enable customers to interact with third-party partners across different fields such as entertainment, insurance more. This will also make available economic benefits and experience personalized engagement. The platform will also enable the customer ownership period as per their choice, need and selection. MG Mid-Size SUV Rumours

Rumours are MG is working on a new compact SUV for the Indian market. Instead of re-engineering an SUV from the SAIC portfolio, MG will be building the new compact SUV from scratch. The new Car as a Platform is likely to make its debut on the new compact SUV when it makes its debut. Expect the new SUV to be introduced in the next 2 years.
