MG Hector Plus 6-seater SUV bookings open in India at INR 50,000

Not too far in the past, Chinese-owned British heritage brand MG Motors showcased the Hector Plus at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi. Recently the brand also updated its official website adding the MG Hector Plus indicating that the brand is ready to launch the all-new larger 6-seater version based on the popular MG Hector SUV.

MG has now announced that it has opened bookings for the MG Hector Plus in the Indian market with a booking amount of INR 50,000 from the brands dedicated contactless digital car booking platform as well as through MG showrooms in India that have resumed operations with new safety guidelines and permissions from relevant authorities. 

The new MG Hector Plus distinguishes itself from the standard Hector SUV with new features and styling changes on the exterior and extra 3rd row seats with new captain seats on the middle row that slide and recline and come with individual armrests. The MG Hector Plus also comes with a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat and 4-way power-adjustable co-driver seat.

Other interior features include a vertically-oriented 26.4-cm touchscreen AVN system with premium Infinity sound system, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 8-speaker and tweeter system with subwoofer and amplifier and 55 connected car features with Over-The-Air updates. The Hector Plus also comes with a 17.78-cm coloured multi-information display, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, 8 ambient colour lighting, front and rear reading lights, powered tailgate with smart swipe opening feature, auto-headlamps, rain-sensing wipers etc. 

On its exteriors, the Hector Plus comes with distinguishable features such as a reworked larger chrome studded grille, reworked LED headlamps mounted on the front apron, restyled LED taillamps, LED front and rear foglamps, floating light turn indicators, LED daytime running lights, shark-fin antenna, dual-tone machine cut alloy wheels but carries over the silhouette from the standard Hector SUV.

In the engine department, the MG Hector Plus features the same powertrain options from the standard 5-seater Hector SUV which comes powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque paired to a DCT gearbox, a petrol-hybrid motor with a Belt Starter Generator matched to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine that produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The MG Hector Plus is offered in 6 exterior colour options – Starry Sky Blue, Glaze Red, Starry Black, Burgundy Red, Candy White and Aurora Silver. The price of the MG Hector Plus has not been unveiled yet, but the brand is likely to make the announcement soon.
