The Hector SUV from MG, or Morris Garages if you want to call it in full received an unprecedented response post its launch. So much was the demand for this all-new SUV, that MG had to stop accepting bookings for the Hector to keep up with existing demand and deliver the booked vehicles. Now, since competition has just increased with the very competitively priced Kia Seltos; MG has announced a unique reward points scheme for Hector customers who are willing to wait for the delivery.
For every week of waiting for the MG Hector, customers will receive 1,000 reward points. This will be calculated without any cap till the time the car is delivered to the customer. Later, the accounted rewards points can be redeemed by the customer against the long list of official accessories that the brand has to offer, or even against other value added services like prepaid maintenance. Also, one should note that MG offers a 1 year / 20,000 km warranty even on accessories. So in this case, if you are waiting longer for the delivery of your MG Hector, you are also getting some added benefits. This ‘Worth Waiting For’ initiative is quite unique, and should help Morris Garages retain potential customers till the bookings repon, and even if the waiting period doesn’t come down significantly as customers are incentivized.
Morris Garages have received close to 30,000 bookings for the Hector SUV, and the brand claimed that they were sold out for 2019 within weeks of the official launch. However, the brand is working on increasing their production capacity to 3,000 units / month at their manufacturing plant at Halol. The brand reveals that the Smart and Sharp which are the top 2 variants of the Hector SUV have seen the most demand and nearly 50% of the total bookings account for petrol-powered variants. MG first started accepting bookings for the Hector SUV on June 4th, 2019.
Morris Garages have also partnered with an NGO called IIMPACT which helps to educate one girl for every 2 weeks of waiting period for the Hector SUV.
