Written by AnantaSaranNayak

MG Hector was a big name in the SUV segment a few years ago. But now with the cutthroat competition coming in the Hector brand has somewhat diminished. With popular entrants like Scorpio-N, XUV700, and Harrier + Safari, Hector is no longer the top choice amongst customers. In fact, the recently launched Toyota Innova Hycross is likely to incite more customers to put away from the MG Hector.

MG Hector Update Coming Soon

But, MG has not given up and is getting ready to make a comeback in the game. There is news of an updated Hector SUV happening. MG Hector production started back on 19th Dec 2018 in India and now four years later, on 19th Dec 2022, MG Motor India rolled out the 100,000th unit of Hector.

Key Changes In Design

The 100,000th unit of Hector was rolled out of the company plant and was interesting in the form of facelifted Hector. MG did add its touches with the new front of Hector’s facelift with flowers. But we could easily see the Radar module in the lower grille, as well as other changes.

Highlighting updates for the 2023 MG Hector facelift is on the front. We have a prominent diamond mesh grille, sleeker top-mounted LED DRLs and headlamps and a reprofiled front bumper. For the rear section, we now get slightly redesigned taillights and a sharper rear bumper that looks slightly different from the outgoing model.

Features On Offer

On the inside of the new MG Hector, there are tons of features. This includes a 14” HD Portrait Infotainment System supported with Next-Gen i-SMART technology. Along with that, we also get a fully digital 7” configurable cluster as part of the package too. Speaking of packages, the upcoming model will come equipped with the ADAS suite incorporated in a top-spec Savvy variant. T

Price Range

Going by the report it seems MG Hector will keep the existing Hector and sell it alongside the facelifted model. Thus the new MG Hector prices will have a significantly higher price than the outgoing model. There is another speculation in place that suggests that MG Hector Plus might replace the Hector with a 7-seater layout and the regular 5-seater Hector will go on as it is.
