MG Motor India clinches yet another milestone. The carmaker recently posted that the ZS EV sales in the country have surpassed the 10,000 units sales mark.
Launched in 2020, ZS EV rails in two trims, Excite and Exclusive. They retail for INR 23.38 lakh and INR 27.29 lakh, respectively. The ZS EV gets six different charging options, including DC Super-Fast Chargers, AC Fast Chargers, AC Fast Charger at MG dealerships, Portable charger with ZS EV, 24X7 RSA – for mobile charging support, and MG Charge Initiative. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative by MG India that aims to install 1000 AC fast chargers in community spaces throughout the country in 1000 days. This move will help boost the EV charging infrastructure.
In March 2022, the automaker updated the 2022 version of the ZS EV, India’s first electric SUV. The updated front fascia now consists of a closed grille and has the charging port on the left side of the MG symbol on the grille itself. Other improvements include a redesigned bumper with chrome inserts, new 17-inch machined alloy wheels with an updated five-spoke design, and all-LED headlights with sharper daytime running LEDs.
As part of this update MG ZS EV also got a bigger 50.3kWh lithium-ion battery. Thus, extending its maximum driving range to 461 kilometres as per the WLTP cycle. Noteworthy to mention that following the launch of the updated model. MG claimed that the 2022 iteration of the EV was sold out within a few days of its formal debut in India.
The interiors of the MG ZS EV also saw a slew of upgrades. For the ZS EV, MG uses an all-black theme with contrast silver inlays. The SUV includes all necessary amenities as per 2023 standards. Key features include a wireless charger, heated exterior rearview mirrors, a 360-degree parking camera, a 7-inch full-TFT instrument panel, power front seats, and an automatic parking brake.
In terms of safety, the EV gets six airbags, parking sensors, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability programme, hill hold assistance, hill descent control, auto headlamps, blind-spot detection, rain-sensing wipers, lane change assistance, and rear cross-traffic alerts.
