MG in the recent past donated 100 MG Hector ambulances to aid transport for COVID-19 patients. The brand has now converted the MG Hector Plus into a mobile COVID-19 testing centre. The converted MG Hector Plus will be called Dhanvantari Rath, which will also conduct vaccination and other healthcare services. The Dhanvantari Rath will conduct the role of vaccination and testing in the state of Gujarat. MG has its production facility in the form of Gujarat in Halol.
The first unit of the MG Dhanvantri Rath has been handed over to Executive Magistrate & Mamlatdar Halol. MG will hand over the converted MG Hector Plus in the presence of Shri Jaydrathsinhji Parmar, Hon. Minister of State for Panchayat, Environment and Agriculture, Government of Gujarat and MLA Halol, Shri Amit Arora IAS Dist. Magistrate and Collector Panchmahal, Shri A K Gautam SDM & Dy. Collector Halol, Shri S N Katara Mamlatdar Halol, Smt. Vibhaxiben Desai Nagar Palika President and other Corporators of Nagar Palika Halol.
The MG Hector Plus is a 7-seater version of the MG Hector SUV. But the car comes with distinctive features on the front and rear fascia. The headlights and LED DRLs of the MG Hector Plus are unique to the model. MG has also made changes to the tailgate of the Hector Plus, and the SUV also gets a new grille design.
The MG Hector Plus features a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. Another variant of the engine also comes with a Belt Starter Generator with a mild-hybrid system. The SUV comes with a 6-speed manual or a DCT automatic transmission in the petrol version. The MG Hector Plus is also available with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel that produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nn of torque. In the Diesel avatar, the MG Hector Plus comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, and no diesel is offered.
