MG Comet EV bookings begin in India from today

The bookings for the MG Comet EV are finally open. MG India has now officially opened the bookings for its latest EV on sale. The bookings are currently underway for a deposit of INR 11,000. MG Comet is available in three variants. These are namely, Pace, Play and Plush. Prices start from INR 7.98 lakh and go all the way up to INR 9.98 lakh.

These are the introductory prices mentioned in the ex-showroom for pan-India. MG has mentioned that these prices are only applicable for the first 5,000 bookings. To further add to the buying experience MG is doing it all. They have enabled Comet EV buyers to track the status of their orders. They can do so via their mobile app, from the time of booking till the delivery of the product.

Compact Dimensions Perfect For Intra-City Commutes

As we know, the MG Comet EV is a 2-door ultra-compact electric car. The dimension of the EV suggests that it is the perfect choice for intra-city commutes. All of this, without much compromise space for four people inside. Its sub-3m length makes it the shortest car in the Indian market. With a turning radius of 4.2 metres, MG Comet is a car to have in jammed-packed metro cities.

Key Features On Offer

The Comet EV comes equipped with a slew of features. This includes an integrated dual 10.25-inch screen setup, one for infotainment and one for instrumentation. Its infotainment unit is compatible with both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The EV also benefits from 55 connected car features. The top highlighting ones include remote operations through mobile apps and other voice control features.

On the safety front, MG’s 2-door EV equips dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and a reverse parking camera. The EV also gets rear parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Battery And Range

Talking of the driving range, MG Comet EV comes equipped with a 17.3kWh battery pack. This comes with a claimed range of 230km. The battery is mated to a rear-axle-mounted electric motor. The performance rating of the motor is 42PS and 110Nm. The EV also supports 3.3kW AC charging. This takes seven hours to charge up the battery from 0-100 per cent.
