MG Cloud EV spotted road testing in India under full camouflage

MG Motor India recently joined hands with JSW, and together, under the joint venture, the brand plans to expand its EV portfolio to new levels. It now appears that, under the new automotive joint venture – JSW MG Motor India PVT LTD. the company is gearing up to introduce another electric vehicle in the Indian market.

Spyshots of the Wuling Cloud EV have emerged on the internet, which lead us to believe that the brand could launch the Cloud EV soon here. However, the Wuling Cloud is likely to be re-branded as the MG Cloud EV. In China, the Cloud EV is also sold as the Baojun Yunduo and Wuling Cloud EV in Indonesia.

While we expect its specifications and features to remain the same, the EV is likely to come with MG specific branding all around and India-specific user-interface/experience on its infotainment and driver’s console. Currently, the brand appears to be road testing the electric vehicle for homologation purposes, where it was spied with full camouflage covers.

MG Cloud EV – Size and Space

To put thing into perspective, the MG Cloud EV is 4295mm in length, 1850mm in width, and 1652mm in height. The EV comes with 5-seats and generous storage space. In addition to this, the Cloud EV also gets a minimalist dashboard enhancing the interior space of the vehicle.

MG Cloud EV – Battery and Range

The MG Cloud EV is likely to come with a 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh battery pack which is likely to hold enough juice to offer a range of 360 km and 460 km on a single charge, respectively. The MG Cloud EV is also likely to come with fast charging technology to minimise the turn-around-time, and offer long distance drivability.

MG Cloud EV – Features

On the inside, the EV is likely to come with a 10.1-inch infotainment system and higher-specs could get a 15.6-inch touchscreen as well. The driver is also likely to get an 8.8-inch instruments cluster. In addition to this, the MG Cloud EV is also likely to come with Connected features and Hinglish Voice Commands. MG is also likely to offer 6-airbags as standard on the Cloud EV as well as ADAS features on higher-end variants.
