German marque Mercedes-Benz has bagged the largest fleet order in India to deliver 120 C Class sedans to the Delhi-based car rental firm Carzonrent.
The deal which is pegged at around Rs. 40 crore is the single biggest corporate deal by Mercedes-Benz in India. The company will start supplying these cars in the next four weeks across cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
With the addition of these 120 C Class sedans, the luxury car fleet size for Carzonrent has increased to 800 units, pan India. Carzonrent plans to invest around Rs. 1,200 crore in the next three years on fleet expansion to reach the 30,000 car fleet target. Currently, the rental firm has 7,500 cars available.
The company has a total budget of Rs. 100 crore for fleet expansion this year, out of which it still has Rs. 60 crore left after the deal with Mercedes-Benz. Carzonrent plans to utilise this remaining budget by adding sports utility vehicles (SUV), multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and mid-size cars to their fleet.
