Mercedes-Benz has introduced a series of updates to its flagship S-Class sedan in India, starting at INR 1.77 crore (ex-showroom) for the S350d variant. The refreshed lineup includes new features and enhancements aimed at improving safety, luxury, and drivability.
The S-Class is available in three variants: the S350d, S450 4Matic, and the top-of-the-line S580 Maybach. The mid-spec S450 4Matic variant now features new seatbelt airbags for rear passengers and a centre airbag between the driver and front passenger seats. Additionally, it includes Mercedes’ Energizing Air purification package with a dedicated air quality menu in the MBUX display. The S450 4Matic is now priced at INR 1.88 crore (ex-showroom), reflecting a price increase of INR 1.45 lakh over its predecessor.
The S580 Maybach variant has received a significant update with the reintroduction of rear-axle steering, allowing the rear wheels to turn up to 10 degrees for improved handling. This feature was initially offered on the launch edition of the S-Class in 2021 but was later removed when local assembly began. The S580 Maybach also comes with seatbelt airbags in the rear and a new centre airbag between the front seats. and is available in a new exterior color, Manufaktur Rubellite Red Metallic, with a Macchiato Beige/Magma Grey interior. The S580 Maybach is priced at INR 2.74 crore (ex-showroom), an increase of INR 2.05 lakh over its previous price.
The refreshed S-Class lineup also introduces two new exterior and interior color packages: Emerald Green Metallic with Sienna Brown/Black interior and Manufaktur Rubellite Red Metallic with Macchiato Beige/Magma Grey interior. These updates aim to enhance the luxury and aesthetic appeal of the flagship sedan.
Mercedes-Benz has focused on improving safety and comfort with these updates, ensuring that the S-Class remains a competitive option in the luxury sedan market. The S350d variant continues to offer a powerful 3.0-litre V6 engine producing 367 hp and 500Nm of torque, while the S580 Maybach is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine delivering 496 hp.
