Mercedes-Maybach S-Class launched in India at INR 2.50 crore

Mercedes-Maybach has launched the S-Class luxury sedan in the Indian market. The brand has announced that the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will  be available in the V8-powered S 580 4Matic and V-12 powered S 680 4Matic trims. Furthermore, the S 580 will be Made in India, while the S 680 will arrive as a CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit). In addition to this, Mercedes-Benz India also revealed that the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in the S 680 trim is completely sold-out till 2023.

2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class – Variants, Price and Colours

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S 580 which is produced in India comes with a price tag of INR 2.50 Crore ex-showroom. On the other hand, the top-spec Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S 680 comes with sticker price of INR 3.20 Crore ex-showroom. The S 680 also comes with hand-applied two-tone paint finish with a dividing line. Below are the colour options available on the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in India.

2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class – Design and Styling

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class comes with well-balanced proportions featuring a distinctive bonnet. The luxury saloon features vertical, three-dimensional chrome trim strips on the radiator grille. The brand has also integrated the word mark MAYBACH on the chrome surround. The car also comes with well-proportioned front and rear bumpers.

Along with this the side profile offers flush-fitted door handles along with 19-inch specially designed alloy wheels. Optionally, the brand also offers 20-inch Maybach 5-hole forged wheels, with a high-gloss polished ceramic finish including fully integrated wheel bolt cover and shod in 255/40 tyres. The luxury car also distinguishes itself from the sister model thanks to a fixed quarterlight in the C-pillar.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class comes with a long list of features inside-out. The brand offers advanced technologies such as Digital Light, that made its debut in India with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The car also features electrically operated comfort rear doors which open and close with no effort at all. The rear doors can also be operated from the driver’s seat and can be closed by a gesture of the hand and stopped by extending an arm. Other features include:-

2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class – Safety

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class also comes loaded with safety features. The car gets Autonomous Driving Level 2 with Evasive Steering Assist and Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic function. With Urban Guard Plus the car also gets safety features such as break-in & theft alarm system, emergency key deactivation, vehicle theft assistance service etc. In addition to this, the car features PRE-SAFE with beltbags, rear airbags, seat cushion airbags, offering a total of 13 airbags.

2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class – Technical Specifications

Powering the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class 580 is an eight-cylinder petrol engine. The motor comes with an integrated second-generation starter-alternator (ISG) and 48-volt onboard electrical system. The 4.0-litre V8 engine produces 503 Hp of power and 700 Nm of torque. The S 580 4Matic is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds, while the top speed is electronically-limited to 250 kmph.

Powering the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class 680 is a twelve-cylinder petrol engine. The engine has been combined with 4Matic four-wheel-drive technology for the first time. The 6.0-litre V12 engine is capable of producing 612 Hp of power and 900 Nm of torque. The S 680 4Matic can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds, while the top speed is electronically-limited to 250 kmph.

Mercedes-Benz has revealed that both the engines are equipped with GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) and are future-ready to comply with the stringent emission regulations. The cars are also equipped with AIRMATIC air suspension as standard and the steering angle at the rear axle is up to ten degrees allowing easy manoeuvrability even in dense Indian city traffic. Thanks to the steering angle the turning circle of the S-Class has been reduced by up to two metres. The car also comes with four driving modes including the new ‘Maybach mode’.
