Mercedes-Benz India is studying the possibility of adding a long wheelbase variant of the E-Class in India.
The next-generation E-Class codenamed as the W213 could feature the long wheelbase variant here in India in 2017. While most of the E-Class owners have been noticed to be chauffeur-driven, such a variant makes perfect sense for the market.
When launched, the model will be dubbed as the E-Class L. This will offer the customers space almost comparable to an S-Class, but at a significantly lesser price tag. The LWB model is 14 cm longer than the regular variant extending full benefits to the rear passengers in the form of legroom.
Currently, the E-Class LWB is available in China, but since it is a left-hand drive, it cannot make its way to the Indian market.
There is no update on the possible engine options for the E-Class L.
