Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch one of its most-anticipated luxury fully electric vehicles the EQS. From the start, Mercedes-Benz has been quite vocal about how the EQS is environmentally friendly. The EQS is expected to be launched next year and Mercedes-Benz has already started off with its marketing planning and seems quite confident about the product.

The most talked feature about this Electric vehicle is the HEPA filtration that filters outside air and maintains the air quality inside the cabin. The EQS will ride on the Mercedes’ Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA) which will also underpin other SUVs scheduled to be launched in the near future. The EQS will also feature the best-in-class MBUX infotainment software which will have Artificial Intelligence technology in-built. The system will get over-the-air upgrades to improve the infotainment system over time and provide the best experience to the customers.

The EQS is expected to have a range of about 435 miles (700 kilometres), whereas there are rumours that the AMG-spec EQS will have more than 600 HP of power and 900 Nm of torque. Mercedes will introduce the green charging for the EQS and other EVs in Europe and this initiative will make sure that owners will be able to charge their vehicles using renewable energy. There would not be any grille on the electric car, and instead, the three-pointed star would be placed on a smooth hexagonal pane which could be illuminated as shown in the concept car.

The EQS will be the S-Class of electric vehicles and the German automaker is also planning to launch two compact SUVs, EQA and EQB. By 2022 Mercedes-Benz is expected to launch 5 EVs and spread its dominance in the electric vehicle market. In India, Mercedes-Benz had recently launched the EQC, the brand’s first all-electric passenger car. This car is based on the GLC and the power is channelled to all four wheels. The power output from the motor is 408HP and the torque is around 765 Nm. Currently, the electric SUV is priced at INR 99.30 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
