Mercedes-Benz showcases Project MAYBACH Virgil Abloh in Mumbai

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a bespoke electric concept car at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai. The futuristic concept car designed by the Late Virgil Abloh and Gorden Wagener reimagines the future of luxury electric travel.

Two-Seater Battery Electric of the Future

According to Mercedes-Benz, the Project Maybach Virgin Abloh is inspired by the great outdoors and features Gran Turismo proportions as well as an off-road coupe design. The two-seater battery electric car features large off-road wheels and distinctive attachments for the off-road environment. The car also displays the unrestrained imagination and inspirational work of the designer such as the solar cells hidden under its transparent bonnet.

Off-Road Ready

The colour concept emphasises the utilitarian yet monolithic style through the Earth and Stone theme. The futuristic concept also gets a sci0fi grille and the interiors are no less than a modular hotel room. The seats even transform into a flatbed. In addition to this, the seat can be packed up and removed like a suitcase as well as used in a high-end tent. Also, the jacquard houndstooth-finish headrests can double as blanket. The Project Maybach Virgil Abloh measures around 6,000mm in length and comes in a 2-seat configuration.

4th Concept Car to be Displayed in India

The Mercedes-Benz project Maybach Virgil Abloh is the 4th concept car displayed by Mercedes-Benz in India. Previously, the German luxury car manufacturer showcased the Vision Maybach 6, the Concept EQG and the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo. However, Project Maybach Virgin Abloh is the second collaboration between Wagener and Abloh and made its debut at the Miami Art Week in December 2021.

The rare concept Mercedes-Benz Project Maybach Virgil Abloh will be on display at the NMACC in Mumbai till October 2024, so do check out the one-of-a-kind concept car while it’s in India.
