Mercedes-Benz has revealed the Mercedes-EQ EQB fully electric SUV in a world premiere. The EQB will make its market debut in China followed by Europe this year and then in the US in 2022. The Mercedes-Benz EQB is a compact crossover SUV featuring 7-seat options thanks to the long wheelbase of the GLB. With the EQB Mercedes-Benz strengthen its EQ family which now consists of the EQC, EQA, EQS and now the EQB.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB will come with power unit capacities that exceed 200 kW and battery capacity starting 66.5 kWh. The EQB range will come with several variants with front-wheel and all-wheel-drive architecture. The brand also revealed that the EQB 350 4Matic in Europe will deliver 478 km of range in the WLTP. The brand also announces that a particularly long-range version of EQB is also in order.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB comes with the hallmark EQ family fascia. The car features a black panel grille with a central star on the front, depicting progressive luxury. The futuristic electric world is interpreted by the continuous light strip at the front and rear. The EQB also comes with raised bonnet ridges and squared wheel arches, reinforcing its SUV characteristics. The EQB also features full-LED headlamps, Blue colour highlights and bi- or tri-colour design Alloy wheels. The SUV also gets 20-inch alloy wheels with Rose Gold and Blue Decorative trim. The EQB also achieves a 0.28 Cd drag value.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB measures, 4684mm in length, 1834mm in width and 1667mm in height. The SUV features the same wheelbase as the GLB which is 2829mm thus offering roomy interiors. As an option, EQB has a third row of seats with two additional individual seats. This is a standard feature in the Chinese market. Mercedes-EQ claims that the third-row seats can accommodate small children or people with 1.65 metres of height.
