Mercedes-benz at the Shanghai Auto Show 2021 in China have revealed the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class L. The L in the moniker denotes the sedan’s Long Wheelbase status. But the brand has announced that the C-Class L will be “Made in China, for China”. In terms of competition, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class L goes head-on with the stretched BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 sedan in the orient.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class L – Design & Styling
The long wheelbase C-Class not only features an elongated wheelbase and bigger doors but also comes with a new radiator grille design. The C-Class L retains the brand’s signature three-pointed star hood ornament. But the C-Class will also come in different trims which features a sporty bumper and grille. The other variants come with front fascia that appears to be similar to the global C-Class sedan. The C-Class L also differentiates itself with a stylised ‘L’ on the C-pillar of the vehicle.
Dimensions
Mercedes-Benz are still tight lipped about the dimensions of the long-wheelbase C-Class. But reports suggest that the long wheelbase sedan will come with a 2,954mm of the wheelbase. Which means the C-Class L will be 89mm longer than the standard C-Class. The overall length of the vehicle is also 131 longer than the standard.
Interiors
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class L comes with interiors similar to the global C-Class. The vertically-oriented central infotainment system, piano black trim and new-generation steering wheel are all employed in the C-Class L. But the rear cabin speaks a different story. The C-Class L features luxury head restraints, a larger armrest with a storage compartment, USB ports, cupholders and the obviously, more amount of legroom. The model also features enhanced noise insulation and comfort suspension for an even quite cabin.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class L joins the A-Class L, E-Class L and the long wheelbase GLC in the Chinese market. The brand in the future could bring the C-Class L to the Indian market as well.
