Mercedes-Benz in India has listed the EQB electric SUV, the EQE electric sedan and the EQS flagship luxury electric sedan. This leads us to believe that the brand will be launching all three electric cars in the Indian market soon. The new models will add to the existing portfolio, which only includes the EQC electric SUV in India.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB comes with the hallmark EQ family fascia, including a black grille with a Mercedes-Benz star in the centre. The SUV features a futuristic continuous light strip at the front and rear, interpreting the advanced world of electric vehicles. The electric SUV comes with a butch design language with power bulges on the bonnet and squared wheel arches. But Mercedes-EQ has worked extensively to achieve a drag value of 0.28 Cd. The EQB measures 4684mm in length, 1834mm in width and 1667mm in height. Powering the EQB is a 66.5 kWh battery that drives a 200 kW electric motor. In Europe, the EQB 350 4Matic delivers a range of 478 km on a single charge according to the WLTP test cycle.
Recently, Mercedes-EQ revealed the EQE sedan at the IAA Mobility in Munich. The brand revealed that the Mercedes-Benz EQE would come with two variants – Standard and an AMG Line. The sedan measures 4,934mm in length and 3,122mm of wheelbase and comes with optional rear-wheel steering. The EQE comes with a piano black grille with intricate design and a Mercedes-Benz star in the centre.
The car features signature continuous LED light strips and sharp LED headlamps. The EQE also gets a progressive roofline, electrically operated pop-out door handles, and a tailgate integrated spoiler. This enables the EQE to have a drag value of just 0.20 Cd, making it one of the world’s most aerodynamic production series electric cars.
Powering the EQE is a 90.6 kWh battery pack that drives a 215 kW electric motor. The motor produces power equivalent to 288 Hp and belts out 530 Nm of torque on demand. The Mercedes-Benz EQE returns a range of 660 km on a single charge. On a fast charger, the battery on the EQE can charge from 0-80% state of charge in just 31 minutes.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS features an aerodynamic design with a drag value of 0.23 Cd. Recently, Mercedes-Benz also revealed the AMG version of the EQS at the IAA Mobility in Munich. The standard EQS 450+ comes with a 245 kW electric motor that produces 568 Nm of torque. The higher-spec EQS 580 4Matic features a 385 kW electric motor that churns out 855 Nm of torque.
In the AMG avatar, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ comes with 658 Hp of power and 950 Nm of torque as standard. The EQS 53 4Matic+ with AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package comes with 761 Hp of power and 1020 Nm of torque and RACE START mode with boost function. The Mercedes-Benz EQS comes with a 770 km driving range on a single charge as standard.
