Mercedes-Benz GLC : More Details

In terms of design, the new GLC is larger in dimensions than the outgoing model. Overall though, the new car is an evolution with clean design, and minimal creases. In terms of new elements, the car now gets a revised front with new LED headlamps, new bumper and an updated grille. Towards the back we can see slim-design LED tail lamps and dual-tip chrome exhaust.

The GLC now gets S-class inspired interiors. This includes the dashboard that houses an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment. The driver gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster along with a new steering wheel. There is no longer a trackpad on offer. This has resulted in a cleaner centre console. The GLC now comes with cup holders and a wireless phone charger in the centre.

In terms of new features, the SUV gets a new transparent bonnet mode. In this, using the 360-degree camera, a view as if the bonnet is transparent is presented to the driver. The GLC also gets ADAS tech, LED headlamps, Burmester surround system, 64 colours ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof and a heads-up display amongst others.

Powertrain of the Mercedes-Benz GLC

The new GLC will be powered by a pair of engines. One diesel and one petrol engine is on offer with mild hybrid tech. Power numbers on the petrol unit read as 254 BHP and 400 Nm. Meanwhile, the diesel one is good for 194 BHP and 440 Nm.

Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. Both powertrains also feature a 48V mild-hybrid system that adds an additional boost of 23 BHP and 200 Nm.

Meanwhile, the outgoing car was equipped with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines with nine-speed automatic gearbox.
