Mercedes-Benz has updated its electric vehicle portfolio in India. The German carmaker has launched the new EQB 350 electric SUV. With this move, the aforementioned SUV replaced the EQB 300 which was launched last year. The price for the EQB 350 has been set at INR 77.50 lakh, ex-showroom. Compared to the launch price of the EQB 300, the EQB 350 is INR 3.0 lakh more expensive.
The EQB was launched alongside the GLB. Both the 7-seat SUV’s share the same body shell. In fact, we can say that the EQB is nothing but the all-electric version of the GLB.
Back in December 2022, Mercedes had introduced the all-electric EQB 300 in the Indian market. In comparison, the EQB develops a higher power output from the dual electric motor setup. The EQB 300 was rated at 225 BHP and 390 Nm, while the EQB 350 makes 288 BHP and 520 Nm. The EQB is based on Mercedes’ EVA 1.5 architecture. That means its an electric car based on the traditional ICE platform which has been modified for EVs.
The new Mercedes EQB 350 also comes with the carmaker’s latest MBUX entertainment suit. It also gets features like a digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and a powered tailgate.
Mercedes offers a 66.5 kWh battery pack on the EQB 350. This is good enough for a WLTP cycle range of 423 km. Mercedes claims that the battery can be charged from 10-80 percent in just 32 minutes using a 100 kW DC fast charger. Owners can also charge their EQB using a 11 kW wall adapter that takes 6.25 hours to charge the battery.
In terms of performance, the all-electric EQB is no slouch. The SUV can sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and go all the way to its top speed of 160 km/h.
