Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the company is facing supply chain issues for the GLA, GLC & GLS range of SUVs. That said, there is strong demand for the 3-pointed star in the Indian market.
The German carmaker delivered 12,768 units in Jan-Sept 2023. In the same period last year, the company reported 11,469 units. This means a growth of 11 percent. According to the company, there is strong demand for the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, AMG and EQS range. This segment witnessed a growth of 22 percent and currently consists of a quarter of the total Mercedes sales.
Mean products like C-Class, E-Class EWB, GLC and GLE SUV continue to be the main sales force for the brand. The festive season in India is also a reason to cheer for the company which expects strong sales in this period as well.
Apart from the sales, the carmaker has collaborated with NMACC to offer its customers exclusive experiences. These new experiences will span across the art, culture, fashion and luxury. One of the events here was the ‘VISION Mercedes-Maybach 6′ reveal. This exclusive event showcased the prototype for the first time in India.
Mercedes has also rolled out Sustainability Fest. This is a unique initiative for customer engagement. It’s main motive is to create awareness about the German carmaker’s sustainability goals as well and showcase the best practices at the company for a sustainable future. One of the benefits under this is the Sustainability Loyalty Bonus. Here, the company will bear 50 percent of the road tax for electric vehicles in states where it is being charged. EV owners will also benefit from free charging across the Mercedes newtork for the month of October 2023.
Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQE all-electric SUV in India. This is the German carmaker’s third electric vehicle to be launched in India. Prices are set at INR 1.39 crore, ex-showroom. In India, we will get the 500 4Matic variant.
The EQE slots below the Mercedes-Benz EQS similar to how the brand positions its E-Class and S-Class range. The all-electric SUV gets five seats and comes with a choice of 2 interior designs. The dashboard gets a 1,410 mm full-width hyperscreen consisting of 3 displays combined into one single unit.
The 500 4Matic is the highest non-AMG trim. It comes with 408 HP and 858 Nm of torque with a range of 547 km on the WLTP test cycle.
