Mercedes-Benz India has announced a price hike. This price increase will be applicable on sales billed post 1st April 2023. The magnum of the hike is 5 percent in ex-showroom prices across the model range.
According to the German carmaker, there are a couple of main reasons for the hike in prices. Amongst them, the primary reason appears to be the sharp increase in forex since last four months. Apart from this, the rising inputs costs have necessitated a price revision. The carmaker says this price hike will help maintain a sustainable business model for the company.
The fall of the Rupee against the Euro over the past few months has affected Mercedes-Benz. Apart from the rising input costs, the company has also faced an increase in the logistics costing. All these have put pressure on the operational cost of the company.
In terms of the amount of hike, the A-Class limousine will get a hike of INR 2 lakh along with the GLA. The top end S 350d meanwhile will receive a hike of INR 7 lakh while the luxurious Mercedes Maybach S 580 will be dearer by INR 12 lakh.
