Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz recently added two new products to its luxury SUV portfolio. These are, namely, the GLB and the EQB. In this news article, we will briefly talk about the GLB 200. Noteworthy to mention, this is the first time Mercedes-Benz launches a petrol (GLB 200), a diesel (GLB 220d, GLB 220d 4M) and an EV (EQB 300) simultaneously, for the Indian market.
The GLB is the epitome of the characteristic appearance of an SUV with versatility and dynamism. GLB’s striking design, flexible seating positions, legroom, and load compartment, make it a highly practical urban SUV for daily usage. In addition to this, it also gets powerful proportions and off-road capabilities. Adding it all it creates a compelling proposition for a mid-size 7-seater luxury SUV. The price range of variants is as follows. GLB 200 gets a price tag of INR 63.8 Lakhs while GLB 220d retails at INR 66.8 Lakhs. GLB 220d 4MATIC gets a price tag of INR 69.8 Lakhs. All prices mentioned are in the ex-showroom.
Mercedes-Benz has also set up 30 Ultra-Fast Chargers across the country. Furthermore, there will be 10 more by the end of 2022. With this, the company now offers more than 140 charging points across the country. Mercedes-Benz customers will also receive a complimentary AC wall box with the EQB. Moreover, customers can also avail of complimentary charging for the first year of car ownership.
GLB represents strong proportions and off-road-oriented design: The upright front section with its striking headlamps gives it a very commanding outlook. Overall, the GLB clearly asserts its robust character through its distinctive design language. Given the size, there’s plenty of room in all dimensions. The SUV gets a generous amount of space and a maximum boot capacity of 1680 litres.
The GLB also offers a third-seat row with two additional individual seats. Mercedes-Benz says that the third row is ideal for families with kids and pet lovers. GLB ensures space variability as the second seat row has a 40:20:40 folding split. There are three powertrain options available. These are Petrol 4×2, Diesel 4×2 and Diesel 4×4.
MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) gives high-resolution screens and graphics, a customizable display, learning-capable software, and Voice Control with natural language recognition. All of this takes the user experience up by a notch.
To add to the off-road engineering package, GLB comes with a 4MATIC variant. The easy-pack tailgate makes loading and unloading the luggage compartment even more convenient. With active parking assistance with PARKTRONIC, searching for a parking space is much easier. It also helps and assists with parking in parallel and end-on spaces
