Mercedes-Benz is soon going to launch the E400 cabriolet in India. The German marque has already imported a unit of the E400 to India for homologation is gearing up for a 2015 launch.

The E400 is based on the current generation E-Class and will feature the updated design such as the single-piece headlamp, LED tail lamps & bolder front grille. The cabriolet features a black soft-top and it can be operated up to speeds of 40 kmph. The cabriolet will also feature an AIRCAP, which is a retractable wind deflector mounted on the top edge of the windscreen which deflects the air from the cabin when driving with the top down. Other features include front sport seats with integrated headrest, electric adjustment for front seats, leather upholstery, COMMAND system, attention assist, collision prevention assist plus, etc.
Powering the E400 is a 3.0L, 6-cylinder, V6, turbocharged petrol motor producing 328 BHP of power and 480 Nm of torque mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The company claims a 0-100 kmph stint to be achieved in 5.3 seconds.
The E400 will be brought to India via the CBU route, hence, expect it to be placed below the E63 AMG in terms of pricing, just shy of the Rs. 1 crore mark.
