Mercedes-Benz delivers 5007 cars in Jan-Sept 2020, sales reach pre-lockdown levels

Mercedes-Benz India has announced that the brand has sold 5007 units in the period between January and September 2020. The brand reveals that amid market challenges the company continues to make the sales recovery and its monthly sales figures reached pre-lockdown level for the first time in the month of September. The upcoming festive season has also contributed towards the reviving customer sentiment. 

The gradual sales recovery claims to be a result of the rejuvenated brand portfolio led by the new line-up of SUV. The brand has announced that the GLC, GLE and GLS SUV still remain the company’s volume drivers. According to Mercedes-Benz, SUVs continue to prevail as the most favoured selection for Mercedes-Benz customers with 48% penetration in September 2020 sales, followed by sedans and AMG & Dream Cars. While the GLC remains the highest selling SUV, the E-Class sedan continues to remain the single highest selling model for Mercedes-Benz in 2020, followed by the C-Class sedan. 

The brand has also strengthened its online offerings and the brand has been offering a complete online journey for its customers, which is in-line with the brand’s online sales focus that was initiated in view of the COVID situation. The brand reveals that in July-September 2020 period, Mercedes-Benz India online car booking contributed up to 20% of sales volume showing a the growth of influence on the online sales platforms and preference for online shopping. 

Mercedes-Benz cars can now be booked with a convenient home delivery option available through the brand’s dedicated online sales channel. Mercedes-Benz India expects a significant part of its total sales to be completely online by 2025. Along with new vehicles customers can also avail pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars online. All Mercedes-Benz dealers across India are now part of the portal, enabling customers in their online buying journey, including delivery and complete customer services support. The Online store also allows customers to purchase Mercedes-Benz merchandise and accessories.
