Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4 door coupe launched in India at INR 2.42 crore

Mercedes-Benz has launched the world’s fastest series production four-seater the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic 4-Door coupe at the price of INR 2.42 crore ex-showroom, India on the event of the 15th edition of Auto Expo 2020. The new AMG GT 63 S 4Matic 4-Door coupe claims to be the fastest production series car in the world and can achieve a top speed of 315 kmph.

To achieve this feat the powerplant on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic is an AMG 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo (2x twin-scroll turbocharged) engine that generates 639 HP of power and 900 Nm of torque mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission with RACE START function that enables the car to sprint from a standstill to 100 kmph in 3.2 second. The power is transmitted to the road via a 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system that can optimise it between the permanently live rear axle and the front axle. The 4Matic+ drivetrain can, on demand, seamlessly change the torque input from a traction oriented 4 wheel drive to purely rear-wheel drive for off the line acceleration. The electronically controlled AMG rear-axle limited-slip differential can ease the car into sharp corners. The V8 engines also feature the AMG Cylinder Management system which enables cylinder shutoff system, helping in reducing fuel consumption and emission.

The stopping power comes from, 390 x 36 mm front and 360 x 26 mm rear, internally ventilated and perforated brakes with a possibility to upgrade to a 402 x 39 mm front and 360 x 32 mm rear, AMG ceramic high-performance compound braking system.

On the exterior, the AMG GT 63 S features a vertically slotted grille with a large three-pointed star in the centre, multibeam LED headlamps with adaptive lighting, 20-inch standard and 21-inch optional alloy wheels, an aerofoil at the back etc.

On the interiors, the car features two 12.3-inch screens arranged in the same plane – one for the instruments display and one as the media display, 14 speaker Burmester surround sound system, ambient lighting, wireless charging, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC etc.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic comes with a plethora of options to choose from with respect to paintwork, upholstery, trim, alloys and performance features.
