Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Made In India Mercedes-AMG car the GLC 43 4Matic Coupe in the Indian market at the starting price of INR 76.70 lakh ex-showroom, India. The brand has expanded its local production portfolio at the Indian manufacturing plant in Pune, by producing the AMG performance GLC in the country. The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe is the first-ever locally produced AMG performance vehicle in India.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe is powered by a BS6 compliant 3.0-litre V6-cylinder Bi-turbocharged motor with direct injection that produces 390 Hp of power and 520 Nm of torque matched to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system with AMG-specific power distribution. The AMG Performance mill helps the SUV accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 250 kmph.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe comes with a choice of five driving modes that alter the characteristics of the vehicle to be individualised further. The Driving Modes include – Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. The programs modify the response of the engine, transmission, suspension and steering and are now linked to the AMG DYNAMICS agility control system, which means that the handling characteristics. Also, the GLC 43 4Matic Coupe gets rear-biased torque distribution with a front/rear axle split of 31 to 69 per cent and the AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension system comes with AMG-specific Adaptive Damping System (ADS PLUS) that provides a balance between sporty driving dynamics and comfort on long journeys.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe features 15 fins vertically slated grille on the front, sleek headlamps, muscular bonnet, rounded wheel arches, aero ducts on the bumper, a sloping coupe roofline, combining style with aerodynamics, a raised rear end with sleek split LED tail lamps, boot lid-mounted spoiler, a rear diffuser and quad rounded exhaust. On the inside, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic features a dual-cockpit concept with wraparound dashboard, sporty AMG steering wheel with trackpad controls, a 12-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, a centrally-mounted touchscreen display with navigation and new generation telematics that features Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX with NTG 6.0) and capable of ‘Over the Air’ updates, rounded air-con vents etc.
The commencement of the local production of the first-ever AMG vehicle in the Indian market is a significant achievement for the German brand and with the AMG GLC 43 4 Matic Coupe, Mercedes-Benz India will be producing the New Generation cars (NGC), sedans, the SUVs and now the AMG performance cars all in one facility. The brand also assures that the production facility adheres to global benchmark in quality and technological advancement and the company production facility in Pune has an installed capacity of 20,000 units per year which is largest for any luxury carmaker in India.
