In 1948, Land Rover introduced the Series I at the Amsterdam Motor Show. Now, in 2022 the brand is marking its anniversary with the Defender 75th Limited Edition. The new limited edition model honours its lineage and celebrates the landmark for Land Rover with an exclusive colour option and unique detailing.
Land Rover, the famous brand that we know today, was born with the launch of a single vehicle. Today, the brand’s host of SUV offerings is a testament to its pioneering spirit of innovation. The same spirit has characterised Land Rover for more than seven decades. The brand also says its Defender, Discovery and Range Rover brand families provide the perfect foundation for another 75 years of success.
The brand also mentioned that the new Defender 75th Limited Edition is available to configure on its Indian website. Alternatively, interested customers can secure their orders by visiting their local Jaguar Land Rover dealership.
The new limited edition Defender will be available in 90 as well as 110 body styles. The Limited Edition uses the high-specification HSE trim line as the base. Thus, it comes with comprehensive standard equipment. Some of the standard equipment includes a 3D Surround Camera, Configurable Terrain Response, Matrix LED headlights, Meridian Sound System and the latest 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system. The brand also says it will be available with either a folding fabric roof or a sliding panoramic roof. Customers can even opt for all-season tyres and an electrically deployable tow bar.
On the outside, the Defender 75th Limited Edition introduces Grasmere Green exterior finish for the first time to the Defender lineup. Complimenting the exterior finish are 20-inch alloy wheels, also in Grasmere Green, with matching centre caps. Completing the exterior enhancements are a unique ’75 Years’ graphic and Ceres Silver bumpers.
The Defender’s versatile and durable interior also gets a similar treatment. The Cross Car Beam on the dashboard now comes in a brushed Grasmere Green Powder Coat finish and laser-etched detailing on Cross Car Beam end caps. The seats on the 75th Limited Edition come with Resist Ebony upholstery. The hockey stick on the centre console now features Robustec material, which is the most durable fabric available for the Defender.
The Defender 75th Limited Edition will be available with the P400 and D300 Ingenium petrol and diesel options. Both of these use Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology, which offers optimised power delivery and fuel economy. Additionally, the 110 models will also be available with the P400e plug-in electric hybrid powertrain.
