Medulance Healthcare, an Emergency Medical Response Service Provider, has launched a 5G-enabled ambulance in partnership with Reliance Jio. The Medulance Healthcare Ambulance connected with high-speed 5G aims to revolutionize the landscape of emergency healthcare in rural India. This would be possible because the ambulance will be able to connect to a hospital almost anywhere in the country.
Ravjot Arora, Co-Founder of Medulance Healthcare, said that the healthcare industry needs to stay adaptable in this ever-changing technological landscape. One way of doing this is to leverage this wave of 5G fully. He added that by integrating 5G with other leading technologies, Medulance Healthcare can transform traditional patient care. Thus, he said that the partnership with Jio is a step towards achieving the same.
Meanwhile, Pranav Bajaj, Co-Founder of Medulance Healthcare, said the company has always focused on integrating technology with emergency response services to relay patient data without any delay. Hence, the 5G network’s faster speed, low latency and higher bandwidth make real-time clinical assessments possible. Pranav Bajaj also said that the company’s vision is to transform its entire fleet into smart ambulances.
Medulance’s new smart ambulance will come with cameras and smart devices that allow real-time, two-way video and audio communication, HD footage transmission, location tracking, as well as real-time streaming of patient health data to a distant doctor. This will help in alerting the nearest hospital and staff to better manage the patient on arrival. Thus, also saving critical time.
The 5G Ambulance will allow real-time transmission of patients’ vitals and other health data to the hospital. Therefore, doctors can instruct the paramedic staff. With this, doctors can administer treatment even during the commute to the hospital. In this critical ‘golden hour’, prompt medical attention can save someone’s life. This is especially helpful in emergencies like heart attack, accidents, brain stroke or trauma. The ambulance also promises to be a boon for patients in rural and remote areas.
Medulance is India’s first Integrated Emergency Response provider. Currently, Medulance has a total of more than 7,500 ambulances in its fleet. This helps provide fast and reliable first-point medical attention in over 60 cities in India.
