McLaren has launched the Artura supercar in India. The hybrid car’s price is set at INR 5.1 crore, ex-showroom, Delhi. Uniquely, the Artura is the first McLaren to come with a V6 engine.
Artura is the first series production hybrid car from the McLaren stable. The other hybird cars – the P1 and the Speedtail are limited edition.
The Artura measures 4,539 mm long, while the wheelbase is 2,640 mm. The width is 2,080 mm and the height is 1,193mm. The kerb weight of the supercar is 1,498 kg.
The Artura is the first car to be underpinned by the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA). This platform has been optimized for hybrid applications and comes with a full carbon fibre tub. The Artura also gets aluminium crash beams along with an aluminium subframe at the back. This subframe supports the rear suspension and the engine.
In terms of design, the car comes with big intakes and flowing design. The Artura gets butterfly doors and centre mounted dual exhausts.
On the inside, there is a digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system.
The McLaren Artura gets a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. The engine is supported by a mid-mounted electric motor. The total power output of the system is claimed to be 671 BHP and 720 Nm. The engine connects to the rear wheels via an eight speed automatic transmission.
McLaren has equipped the Artura with a 7.4 kWh battery. The all-electric range claimed is 31 km with a top speed of 130 km/h. The carmaker also says that the battery can be charged from 0-80 percent in 2.5 hours.
The Artura gets four drive modes. These are E-Mode, Comfort, Sport and Track. When using the most potent settings, the Artura will do a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.0 seconds with a top speed of 330 km/h.
