Keeway-owned bike maker Moto Bologna Passione or MBP has big plans for the Indian market. Recently, the brand teased its Harley-Davidson-rivalling cruiser motorcycle, the C1002V. We will get to see this motorcycle in flesh at the upcoming Auto Expo.
The Italian marque will arrive in the Indian markets under Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI). Along with the cruiser, the automaker also has plans to reveal the M502N streetfighter model.
The MBP C1002V gets a typical cruiser motorcycle silhouette. The key design highlights are its large 22-litre teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a round LED headlamp unit, a wide handlebar, circular mirrors, split-type seats, dual exhausts, and a neatly-cropped tail section with a sleek LED tail lamp.
The motorcycle also packs a 5.0-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster and rides on 18-inch designer alloy wheels. The MBP C1002V cruiser tips the scale at 262 kg.
Powering the MBP C1002V is a powerful 997cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, V-twin engine. It uses a 6-speed gearbox with a belt-drive system. The mill churns out a maximum power of 93.8 HP at 7,600rpm and a peak torque of 102 Nm at 6,500rpm.
For the rider’s safety, the MBP C1002V comes equipped with J. Juan disc brakes. This is for both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel Bosch ABS. This setup provides adequate braking power thus improving the overall braking performance.
The suspension duties on the cruiser are taken care of by KYB inverted forks for the front and a preload-adjustable KYB Pro-Link mono-shock unit for the rear.
In India, the details regarding the pricing and availability of the MBP C1002V are not yet out. We believe the motorcycle maker will put on a price tag of around 12 lakhs. We expect Keeway to launch the motorcycle at the Indian Auto Expo 2023.
